Located in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, the Folksbier Tasting Room opened in January of 2017. 

Our tasting room has become a destination for beer lovers and families alike, with seven rotating tap lines that feature our most fresh selections brewed on premise.

Folksbier Hopyard

In 2014, we began planting our own hops on the Folksbier Family Farm in Northern Michigan. Just north of the 45th Parallel, in Harbor Springs, MI, we have cordoned off a square acre of farmland dedicated to growing a number of different hops for our exclusive use. Ranging from American Pacific Northwest to Traditional Noble Hop varieties, these hops will provide a one-of-a-kind quality to every beer we make.

HOP Varieties

We have a range of different varieties, including German noble hops such as Hallertau (pictured above) and American varieties such as Cascade and Chinook.

Annual Hop Training

Every hop bine needs to be individually wrapped to train its growth upwards. Here, Mel Kauffman winds a hop bine clockwise around the rope trellis.
